Class Description

$150+$30 kit fee (4 sessions) Fri, Jan 17, 24, 31 & Feb 7 (1pm-4pm) In this pattern-making class by master tailor Rachel Berchtold, begin with a measurement-taking session: Rachel will use these measurements to draft a custom sloper (basic block pattern) for each student, this will be used to create a muslin required for the third session. The class will continue with students drafting a half-scale basic pant pattern for use in Class Two: making pattern variations (loose-fit elastic-waist trouser, pleated dress pant, and a stretch sloper for two-way and four-way stretch fabrics). In Class Three, the individual muslin pants will be fit on all participants and any required corrections will be done on the individual slopers. In Class Four, students will make patterns for styling details such as pockets, fly fronts, yokes and facings.
