ABOUT US
Liana and Fred Kirkey are Sew Technical & Creative; they bring a combined 50 years+ of knowledge, creativity, and experience to the domestic sewing machine industry.

Liana began her career in the sewing machine industry by demonstrating Bernina machines at the Canadian National Exhibition in 1984, a job obtained through her mom's sewing store. Still in high school at the time, she swore that she was "never joining the family business", but in 1991, she began working full-time at her mom's sewing machine store in Newmarket, Ontario. She specializes in teaching Bernina and Brother sewing machines, embroidery machines and related software.

Fast forward a couple of years, and Liana's soon-to-be-husband was hanging out in the tech shop, avidly absorbing the fundamentals of sewing machine mechanics. Initially trained in avionics, he was immediately able to put his knowledge of electronics to timely application on the newly emerging computerized sewing machines. Rapidly becoming a career technician, he has dedicated the years since to providing expert service and repairs to consumer sewing machines, embroidery machines, and sergers.
Fred and Liana are looking forward to supporting your sewing machine service and education needs in the years to come.
